The Los Angeles Dodgers treated themselves to an extra day off when they took the NLDS from the Atlanta Braves with a 4-1 win in Game 4. They set themselves up for wicked hangovers on Thursday morning, but they'll have until Sunday evening to recover and move on to a best-of-seven NLCS against the Milwaukee Brewers.

The rotation resets, lining up Tarik Skubal to take the ball in Game 1 against the likely NL Cy Young award-winner Jacob Misiorowski. The Brewers' ace disappointed in his first start against the San Diego Padres, throwing 88 pitches in just four innings while giving up two runs.

Of course, this Brewers team is not to be underestimated. They were the winningest team in the game coming out of the regular season, besting the Dodgers by three victories. They didn't sweep the Padres in the NLDS, but San Diego looked outgunned the entire time.

Dodgers vs. Brewers 2026 NLCS Schedule: All start times and broadcast details

As usual, FOX Sports (and affiliates) will be the home for October Dodgers baseball. The voice of the Dodgers, Joe Davis, though absent for a few NLDS games with illness, will presumably get the call alongside John Smoltz, which is already rankling Brewers fans. No surprise there, though; this happens every year.

Last year, Brewers manager Pat Murphy would not stop emphasizing his team's underdog status. His favorite soundbite to hand to reporters was something along the lines of, "I bet the Dodgers couldn't name five players on this team," but that number of players just kept going down every time he said it.

He slowed his roll on that somewhat after his team was swept out of the NLCS around this time last year; which is certainly going to be haunting Brewers fans coming into this rematch. But they bested their 97-win record in 2025 by six games this year, so even the Dodgers won't be getting too cocky. If any team is going to keep them from a three-peat, it'll be the Brewers.

LA still has some obvious flaws. Of the nine runs they scored against the Braves, only two came on a base hit instead of a homer. But pitching will be king in this series, and the Dodgers have that in spades.

A fresh Skubal, Blake Snell, and Yoshinobu Yamamoto are far more intimidating together than a fresh Misiorowski, so LA has to be feeling pretty good about their chances right about now.
