Ex-ESPN reporter gets destroyed by Dodgers fans for wildly biased Blue Jays support

Keep the tears flowing, Canada!

The Los Angeles Dodgers defeated the Toronto Blue Jays in one of the most memorable World Series in history, but some people — especially Jays fans and pundits — are having a hard time coping with results.

Ariel Helwani, who's known more for his opinions on MMA than baseball, is the latest crybaby to hit the airwaves. During a recent episode of The Ariel Helwani Show on YouTube, the former ESPN personality called out the Dodgers and acted as if the Blue Jays were some sort of class act.

During the episode, Helwani began discussing his travel plans for the week, and mentioned that he was hoping to be in Toronto for the parade that will never happen because the Blue Jays lost Game 7. But the mention of a parade sparked a commentary from the Canadian in which he took shots at the Dodgers for their celebration at Dodger Stadium earlier this week.

Dodgers fans mock wildly biased Blue Jays support from ex-ESPN personality

"I don't know if you guys watched a lot of the footage," Helwani said. "I thought the Dodgers looked like jackasses. I thought they embarrassed themselves. I mean did you guys see some of this stuff?"

"I mean, there's this one clip where they're kind of mocking the ball being lodged moment," Helwani continued. "Like, you're mocking it. You're mocking a play that was controversial, in which you didn't play the ball and called for it to be a ground rule double, and now you're laughing."

Helwani can call the play controversial all he wants, but it only illustrates his ignorance. While it was almost unbelievable to see the ball get wedged in the padding of the outfield wall during Game 6 of the World Series, there was no malfeasance on the part of the Dodgers or the umpiring crew. It was the correct call.

But that wasn't the end of Helwani's incessant whining. He also didn't like Kiké Hernandez's employing the famous line from Connor McGregor during LA's celebration at Dodger Stadium, and claimed that he fumbled his way throughout it.

To top off his blubbering with one more asinine comment, Helwani closed out his commentary by saying, "I was an even bigger Blue Jays fan last night because they are classy. They are professional. They are respectful. They would never conduct themselves in which the Dodgers did yesterday."

Apparently Helwani wasn't watching the Blue Jays' ALDS celebration when Vladimir Guerrero Jr. grabbed a microphone during the postgame interview with FOX and exclaimed, "Daaaaaaaaaaaa Yankees lose." Yeah, that was classy, wasn't it?

Helwani claims this wasn't him coping, but everyone knows the truth. To be fair, it's now been 32 years and counting since Toronto (or any Canadian team for that matter) has held a championship parade north of the border, so you can understand why he's up in his feelings about the entire situation.
