Corey Seager trolling Astros at World Series parade should've been Dodgers moment

It was hard enough watching a number of former LA Dodgers and should-be Dodgers trade targets win the 2023 World Series. The Texas Rangers took down the best teams in the AL, including the Houston Astros, before toppling the Arizona Diamondbacks in the Fall Classic.

It got more difficult for fans to stomach when Corey Seager captured his second World Series MVP. It was unsettling knowing Max Scherzer essentially did nothing to earn another ring. Andrew Heaney with a key Game 4 start? Josh Sborz closing out the clincher?

But perhaps the worst came during the Rangers' parade on Friday. Between 500K-700K people were in attendance to celebrate the franchise's first-ever championship, and Seager was right in the middle of the action.

He was signing autographs on moving vehicles. He was working a shift at Raising Cane's. He was taking responsible sips of beer. Smart kid.

He was ... dropping the mic?! Wait a second?! The mild-mannered, quiet-natured Seager throwing shade in front of tens of thousands of people?! We guess the fire was always there, based on how he's performed on the biggest stages.

This was particularly tough to swallow for LA fans because Seager putting Alex Bregman and the Houston Astros on blast really feels like it should've been a moment for the Dodgers, especially after what had happened in 2017.

A month ago, on the final day of the regular season, the Rangers choked away the AL West crown and the Astros captured their sixth division title in the last seven years (the only time they didn't win it came during the shortened 2020 season).

In Houston's postgame celebrations after they had clinched a bye for the first-round of the playoffs, Alex Bregman had a snarky comment that (thankfully) came back to bite the Astros. Right before he popped the champagne, the slugger had this to say in front of the cameras in the clubhouse:

"A lot of people were wondering what it was gonna be like if the ‘Stros didn’t win the division… I guess we’ll never know."

And then came Seager with the haymaker. His Rangers took down the Astros in seven games in the ALCS, winning every road game. Then his torrid pace continued in the World Series, setting himself up for the ultimate receipt pull.

Seager faked out the crowd with what seemed to be a serious tone before delivering, "Everybody was wondering what would happen if the Rangers didn't win the World Series ... I guess we'll never know!!"

A lot of Dodgers fans were wondering what it would be like without Corey Seager on their team after the 2021 season ... and I guess we fully know.
