It was officially announced on Thursday night that the Los Angeles Dodgers have signed Japanese pitcher Yoshinobu Yamamoto.

The signing came on the heels of acquiring Shohei Ohtani, and now the Dodgers have added the two biggest free agents of the offseason, along with the likes of former Tampa Bay Ray Tyler Glasnow. As a result, the Dodgers' betting odds to win the 2024 World Series continue to climb.

Dodgers World Series Odds

The Dodgers already became World Series favorites when they signed Ohtani, leapfrogging the Atlanta Braves to sit alone at the top of the odds board at +550.

Now, as you can imagine, they've widened the gap on the rest of the majors even further. After the Yamamoto signing, the Dodgers' World Series odds moved to +400. The next closest teams are the Braves and New York Yankees, both sitting at +650.

+400 odds means the Dodgers have a 20% chance to win the World Series before a pitch has even been thrown. You would profit $400 on a $100 bet if they're able to achieve the feat.

Despite not having much postseason success over the past decade outside of 2020, the expectations have never been higher for this team heading into 2024. They've gone all in and spent a truly jaw-dropping amount of money in order to snag the top two available players that baseball had to offer this offseason.
