Dodgers minor league team might have best outfield prospect group in recent history

With the Los Angeles Dodgers continuing to develop young prospects, the Great Lakes Loons (A+) currently have one of the best outfields minor league baseball has ever seen.

The Los Angeles Dodgers have an embarrassment of riches throughout the organization, from prolific superstars like Shoehi Ohtani, Mookie Betts, Freddie Freeman, and Yoshinobo Yamamoto to a handful of underrated starters like Andy Pages and Will Smith.

Pages is probably the sixth or seventh name that comes to mind when you think of the 2025 Dodgers. But his 1.7 fWAR would be lead position players on 19 different MLB teams.

If there’s one hole in the Dodgers’ current roster, it’s in the outfield. With Teoscar Hernández hurt and Michael Conforto struggling, Dave Roberts has been trying James Outman and Chris Taylor in center field. But even there, the Dodgers are loaded when you take a zoomed out look at the organization.

The Dodgers are currently sitting on the best outfield prospect group that I can remember.

Dodgers outfield prospects dominating with High-A Great Lakes Loons

The Dodgers have four elite outfield prospects all playing for the same team. With Mike Sirota recently being promoted to join the Great Lakes Loons (A+), the outfield in Midland, Michigan is becoming must see TV for baseball lovers.

In his only game with Great Lakes so far, Sirota was leading off and playing left field. Sirota is the No. 19 prospect in the Dodgers organization and was acquired from the Cincinnati Reds in the Gavin Lux trade during the offseason. He will be flying up the prospect rankings before long.

In 2025, his first professional season, Sirota is hitting .373 with seven home runs, 17 extra-base hits, and an OPS of 1.168 across two levels.

Kendall George is the regular starter in center field. George has the least prolific bat of all the outfield prospects on this team, but he has electric speed and plays great defense in center.

This season, George has a .723 OPS and 13 stolen bases. The Dodgers would like to see his .246 batting average raised, but George makes up for it with 21 walks in 30 games.

Josue De Paula is the man in right field and the most exciting prospect of all. De Paula is the No. 2 prospect in the organization and comes in at No. 33 on MLB Pipeline’s Top 100 list.

At just 19 years old, De Paula has a .301/.409/.529/.947 slashline for Great Lakes this season. He has six (6) home runs and seven (7) stolen bases. The Dodgers believe he is “the most advanced young hitter the organization has had in years” and he proves why every day.

Zyhir Hope is the fourth and final highly-touted outfielder on the Loons roster. Hope is a great athlete and versatile enough to play any outfield position. He is one of the fastest rising prospects in all of baseball this season and currently ranks third in the Dodgers organization and 45th on the Top 100 list.

Hope’s six (6) home runs this season ties him for the most in the Midwest League. His 27 RBI are the second-most in the league, as well. Despite being undersized (5’10”, 193 lbs.), Hope has some serious pop in his bat at 20 years old.

Help is on the way for the Dodgers

This is just another example of why the Los Angeles Dodgers are baseball’s Gold Standard organization.

Not only are they the best team in the National League and the current betting favorite to repeat as World Series champions, but they’re not going away anytime soon.

Even if the Dodgers didn’t outspend every other team, the way the organization develops talent keeps the farm system loaded with future stars. As a result, the Great Lakes Loons currently have one of the best outfields minor league baseball has ever seen.
